Board Of Directors

Christina Iacoucci

BGO Capital (Canada) Inc

  • Christina Iacoucci is Managing Partner, Head of Canada at BGO with overall responsibility for leading the firm’s fully integrated Canadian Business. BGO Canada is one of the largest real estate managers in Canada, with $28B of asset under management, across 69 million square feet of commercial real estate and over 12,000 multi-residential units (as of September 30, 2024). Christina is a member of BGO’s Global Management Committee and a voting member of the firm’s Canadian Management and Investment Committees and chair of the firm’s Canadian Value Add Investment Committee.

    Christina has over 30 years of commercial real estate experience specializing in portfolio management, investments, asset management, development, and valuation. Christina has been a leading force behind BGO’s sustainable real estate investing and innovation initiatives.

    Christina is actively involved in the real estate industry. She is a member of the board of directors of MaKin Foundation and past President of NAIOP Greater Toronto Chapter in 2023. Christina also helps shape the industry’s future leaders through mentorship for both NAIOP and served as a real estate mentor for the Rotman School of Management Master’s Program at the University of Toronto.

Eileen Foroglou

Chief Financial Officer

  • Eileen Foroglou, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA), currently holds the position of Chief Financial Officer (Canada) at Epic Investment Services. In this role, she provides leadership to the finance and accounting teams, overseeing financial reporting, treasury operations, tax management, risk mitigation, and information technology systems. Her strategic insight and operational acumen are instrumental in driving the company's business strategy and facilitating its growth through effective business development initiatives. 

    Prior to her tenure at Epic, Eileen served as the Chief Financial Officer at Montcrest Asset Management (formerly known as NYX Capital), where she managed a spectrum of financial functions including corporate finance, accounting, financial reporting, financing, and risk management. Before that, she held progressive roles at Salthill Capital (formerly known as Strathallen Capital), where she not only spent several years in asset management and real estate strategies but also led teams across finance, accounting, information technology, and human resources. 

    Eileen is deeply committed to upholding standards of accuracy, compliance, and governance while ensuring seamless execution across all organizational processes and procedures, benefitting both the company and its clients. With over 20 years of comprehensive experience in real estate, encompassing both finance and operations, she possesses a breadth of expertise that allows her to contribute effectively to various management strategies and navigate diverse operational challenges. 

Jaime McKenna

President
Fengate Real Estate

  • Jaime McKenna is President of Fengate Real Estate and leads all aspects of Fengate’s real estate group including asset management, development, investment, financial reporting and governance.

    Fengate has been successful in growing its real estate portfolio through land entitlement, development and core strategies to over $15B in completed value, with a pipeline of over 25,000 residential units and 5M square feet of industrial space under various stages of stabilization and development. Since joining Fengate in 2019, Jaime has led several key initiatives including establishing a best-in-class executive team, accelerating capital deployment, launching multiple growth funds and closing numerous key transactions on behalf of our investors, including the acquisition of Rail Deck District in 2021.

    Prior to joining Fengate, Jaime was Chief Investment Officer of Minto Apartment REIT where she was part of the executive team that led the initial public offering as well as the follow-on equity offering in April 2019.

    Jaime is a member of several boards including: REALPAC, Trent University and Seasons’ Retirement Homes, as well as a member of Marlin Spring’s advisory committee. Jaime holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with honours, and has Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Business Valuator and Institute of Corporate Director designations.

Jacob Iftah

Managing Partner
Kin Capital Partners

  • Jacob is the Founder & Managing Partner of Kin Capital Partners. As an experienced real estate financier, investor, and entrepreneur, he led the investments and advisory platforms that invested alongside top-tier developers and institutional investors in large-scale real estate developments totaling ~9M developable square feet. Under Jacob’s leadership Kin Capital advised on placing ~$1.5B of equity & debt on transactions’ value of $3B+ since founding the company in 2020. 

    Prior to founding Kin Capital Partners, Jacob founded KSM Group, a private equity and asset management company investing in real estate related businesses and technology ventures across North America. 

    Jacob is a known advocate for giving back to the community, he serves on UJA’s Executive Committee, co-chair the Tel Aviv University Global Real Estate MBA Tour to Toronto, Co-founded TREL, a real estate non-for-profit networking group with over 3,000 members and Co-founded Makin Foundation & RealStories a charity with a mission to increase diversity & inclusion within the real estate industry by providing full scholarships to Real Estate MBA programs for young professionals from unrepresented groups.  

Leona Savoie

President
Woodcliffe Landmark Properties

  • As President, Leona is responsible for overseeing acquisition, development, construction, and project management performance as well as the strategic oversight of Woodcliffe’s day-to-day operations. Additionally, she oversees the full life cycle of Woodcliffe’s development pipeline and the management of its portfolio of commercial properties. With over 25 years of experience in the development of award-winning and legacy residential, commercial, mixed-use, and heritage projects, Leona brings a wealth of knowledge to the team.

    Prior to joining Woodcliffe, Leona held the position of Senior Vice President, Residential at a leading Greater Toronto Area development firm and progressively senior positions at a number of Toronto’s preeminent full-service development companies. Beyond her operational roles, Leona is also a seasoned advocate, championing the industry’s voice in the public sphere on many complex policies impacting our business.

Marcel Parsons

Head of Asset Strategy
First Capital REIT

  • An experienced real estate senior executive with a demonstrated history of delivering exceptional financial performance and driving strategic growth. Broad corporate experience across portfolio strategy, asset management, real estate valuation, and analytics with approximately 20 years of experience with public and private institutions. Highly skilled in leading diverse teams and implementing innovative investment strategies. Currently, leads the Asset Strategy team at First Capital REIT, which has responsibilities for asset strategy, portfolio optimization, valuations and joint venture management.

Ryan Ram

Principal, Strategy & Engagement
Matrix360

  • Ryan is Principal at Matrix360, where he leads the talent management business, and runs Careers+, the career services arm of Matrix360. His expertise is building and transforming teams and companies for the commercial real estate and development industry. Ryan’s people-centered approach is key to creating and implementing solutions for business leaders focused on diversity, equity and accessibility. He is a Co-Founder of the RealStories Speaker Series and CREED Council, a member of the Board of Directors of the MāKin Foundation, and a member of the Urban Land Institute's DEI Committee.  

    Ryan's passion for his work stemmed from a combination of working for a real estate development firm and backpacking across Asia for 13 months. While in living in India and volunteering for a local non- profit, he gained first-hand exposure to issues around poverty, class, and access to land, food and water. Over the past several years, he has listened to, read, and engaged with the stories of people to gain a deeper understanding of the blind spots he had, and the nuances of the different intersections of people. 

    Ryan has participated on numerous talks and panels for the Urban Land Institute Toronto, the Real Estate Institute of Canada, the Canadian Institute of Planners, Toronto Metropolitain University, Informa Canada’s Springfest & RealLeaders conferences, the Schulich Real Property Alumni Association, Laurier Real Estate and the Canadian Association of Urban Finance Professionals.

Bonnie Oppenheimer

Executive Director

  • Bonnie Oppenheimer is the Executive Director of the MāKin Foundation, where she oversees the Foundation’s mission to provide mentorship, financial support, and real-world experience for diverse and underrepresented students pursuing careers in Commercial Real Estate and Development (CRED). With over a decade of experience in nonprofit leadership, education, and leadership development, Bonnie is deeply committed to creating access to opportunity for emerging leaders in the CRED sector.

    Throughout her career, Bonnie has specialized in people development, leveraging her background in theatre and education to coach individuals in leadership, career transitions, and personal empowerment. With a focus on authenticity and confidence, she has successfully guided countless individuals at various stages of their careers, from those entering the workforce to those negotiating job offers and advancing in their fields.

    Bonnie has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for various causes throughout her tenure in the nonprofit sector, demonstrating her strong capacity for resource mobilization and strategic fundraising. In addition, she has mobilized dozens of volunteers, building and leading teams that drive meaningful social impact and advance critical initiatives. Her expertise in community engagement and her proven track record in program development have made her a strong advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in all areas of her work.

    As Executive Director of the MāKin Foundation, Bonnie is focused on breaking down barriers to success for students in the CRED industry. Through the Foundation’s programs, she is dedicated to fostering a more inclusive and equitable industry by equipping students with the tools and support needed to excel. Bonnie’s leadership continues to guide the Foundation’s growth and its impact on the future of Commercial Real Estate and Development in Canada.

Chandran Fernando

  • Chandran is the Founder and Managing Partner for Matrix360 and has built an advisory platform for talent management and workplace strategy in the Canadian real estate and development industry over two decades.

    In 2021, he was invited to join and selected to participate in Forbes Leadership Council. As a strong advocate and champion for gender equity and inclusion, his company was an Advisory Partner for the UN GCNC Gender Equality Leadership that focused on creating a gender-based benchmark and measuring tool for Canadian corporate entities.

    In 2018, he was instrumental in forming the CREED Council, an organization focused on diversity and equity in the real estate industry. In addition to sitting on the boards of several non-profit organizations that are focused on advancing diverse and underrepresented communities, Chandran is an advisor for many organizations that focus on transforming communities, workplaces and society.

  • Trina Hiscock is an award-winning brand, digital, and strategic communications professional. She brings a wealth of brand management and communication expertise with a charismatic energy to clients ranging from small market challengers and entrepreneurs to mature companies and institutions taking aim at new opportunities. Most recently, Trina has applied her extensive experience in implementing technical solutions in a wide range of industries to the Smart Cities sector through her work with Innovate Cities. Trina also has her own podcast, which she writes, hosts, and produces.

    Recognized for her ability to drive projects, manage budgets, and realize deadlines, Trina places an emphasis on providing clear and concise simple solutions that meet specific business needs.

    Over the course of her career, Trina has managed a variety of diverse projects on behalf of organizations such as the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP), OPTrust Pension Plan, Innovate Cities, Fengate Asset Management, Arctic 360, Cassels LLP, Responsible Communications, CAMH Foundation, Canadian Opera Company, National Magazine Awards Foundation, Scotiabank Photography Award, The Writers’ Trust of Canada, Loft Community Services, MARK Investment Fund, KingSett Capital, Ontario Chiropractors Association, Epic Investments, Singularity Capital, and Verdion European Logistics Fund – just to name a few.

    Past projects include brand strategy and messaging, change management initiatives, implementing privacy and governance frameworks, quarterly and annual report creative development and production, video and digital production, social media strategies and content writing, internal branding and culture, as well as event curation for both corporate and individual clients.

    Trina and her team are committed to creating environmentally sustainable solutions that work, and for the past eleven years, Trina has produced the Leaders in Environmental Advancement Program (LEAP) Conference and Awards.

    Known for her bold, contemporary style, Trina’s passion for shoes is matched only by her energy in delivering project solutions to her clients that meet strategic business objectives. She cherishes being a mother to an inspiring young girl and has a passion and drive to do her part in making the world a better place, implementing climate change and sustainability as one of TRIA’s primary mandates. She also recognizes the impact that adventurous experiences - travel, fashion, business and motherhood—all have on our ability to continually develop, both personally and professionally while finding balance.
